Refund & Cancellation Policy

Per-product refund and cancellation rules for every ProofChain service

1. General Principle

ProofChain services are delivered electronically and many of them are non-recoverable once executed (blockchain anchors are immutable; AI analyses are compute-billed; credit packs are usable indefinitely). For this reason, our default position is no refunds after delivery, subject to the per-product exceptions in Sections 2-7.

Before completing payment for a timestamp or AI analysis, you are given the opportunity to preview your certificate or analysis scope free of charge. This preview ensures you know exactly what you are paying for before any money changes hands.

All refund requests must be submitted to support@proofchain.in from the email address associated with your ProofChain account. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and resolve approved refunds within 7 business days of approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Razorpay; bank-side credit timelines apply.

2. Timestamp Protection (one-time, all products)

Applies to: ProofScript per-work protection, ProofBooks per-work protection, ProofSound per-track protection, ProofLegal per-document protection, ProofTrain course IP timestamping.

  • Non-refundable after delivery. Once the SHA-256 hash is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps and/or the RFC 3161 TSA, the timestamp is permanent and cannot be reversed. We cannot refund the cost of work already performed on the blockchain.
  • Payment failure / duplicate charge. If Razorpay confirms payment but a timestamp is not issued (system error, network failure), email support with the Razorpay order ID. We will either re-issue the timestamp at no extra cost or refund in full within 7 business days.
  • Revisions and re-issues. Revisions to previously protected works are sold at reduced pricing as separate orders. Not eligible for refund unless the issue above applies.

3. AI Analysis (ProofIntelligence)

Applies to: ProofScript Free/Professional/Premium analyses, ProofBooks Free/Professional/Premium/Adaptation analyses, Training Analysis, ProofTrain Design and Analysis.

  • Non-refundable after delivery. Once the AI analysis is generated and visible in your account, it is non-refundable. The free preview / synopsis snapshot exists precisely so you can validate fit before paying for the full tier.
  • Generation failure. If payment succeeds but the analysis fails to generate (provider outage, internal error) and we cannot re-run it within 24 hours, we will refund in full.
  • Quality disputes. AI outputs are advisory and not guaranteed to match any professional opinion or commercial outcome. Disagreement with scores, insights, or pitch-deck phrasing is not a refund ground.

4. Credit Packs and Recharges

Applies to: ProofTrain credit packs, ProofScript AI Chat / Scene Doctor recharge packs, ProofBooks recharge packs, and similar pre-paid credit bundles.

  • Non-refundable but non-expiring. Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased. Credits do not expire and remain usable across all qualifying services within the respective product.
  • Unused credits at account closure are forfeited. They cannot be cashed out or transferred to another account.

5. Recurring Subscriptions (monthly / annual)

Applies to: ProofScript Industry (Producer / Producer Pro), ProofBooks Industry (Publisher), ProofTrain Premium (₹499/month or equivalent annual), and any future recurring subscription.

  • Cancel anytime. You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until that date.
  • No partial refunds. No partial refunds are issued for unused subscription time except where required by applicable law.
  • First-cycle good-faith refund window. If you cancel within 48 hours of the first-ever charge on a new recurring subscription and have not used a paid feature in that window, email support and we will refund that first charge as a good-faith exception. This applies once per account, to the first subscription only.
  • Price increase that exceeds your UPI Autopay mandate. If we raise the subscription price and the new amount exceeds your saved UPI Autopay mandate cap, your next debit is automatically halted by Razorpay. We notify you and surface a re-authorisation flow. If you decline, the subscription lapses at the end of the current paid period with no extra charge.
  • Failed renewal. If a recurring debit fails (bank decline, expired card, revoked mandate), we retry per Razorpay's standard schedule and notify you. After repeated failures the subscription transitions to a halted/lapsed state.

6. ProofSchool (Annual School Subscription)

Applies to: schools subscribing to ProofSchool at proofschool.in. The authoritative version is proofschool.in/terms; this section is a summary.

  • 7-day refund window. Within 7 days of subscription start, the school may request a refund of the annual fee pro-rated against any AI-generated teacher reports already produced. After day 7, refunds are at ProofChain's discretion.
  • No auto-renewal. ProofSchool is sold as a one-time annual order, not a recurring subscription. There is nothing to cancel — access ends on subscription anniversary unless the school re-purchases.
  • Recharge credit packs. Additional assessment credits beyond the annual allowance are non-refundable but do not expire.

7. Competition Entries and Gigs

  • Competition entry fees are non-refundable once the entry is accepted into a live competition.
  • If a competition is cancelled by ProofChain before judging begins, entry fees are refunded in full.
  • ProofChain does not mediate gig transactions. Disputes between creators and industry professionals over gig payments are between those parties; ProofChain's only role is discovery facilitation.

8. ProofVerify and Free Services

ProofVerify, ProofScript Lab, ProofBooks Lab, and any other services marked as free are provided at no charge. No refund is applicable.

9. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory right you have under applicable law, including the Consumer Protection Act 2019 (India) for transactions covered by it, or any analogous consumer-protection law applicable to you.
