Delete Your Account
ProofChain — ProofScript, ProofBooks, ProofSound and ProofLegal
You can delete your ProofChain account and its associated data at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
- 1Sign in to your account on the app or at the product’s website (proofscript.in, proofbooks.in, or the ProofSound or ProofLegal app).
- 2Open Profile, then Account settings.
- 3Choose Delete account.
- 4Confirm when prompted. Your account and the data listed below are removed immediately.
Can’t sign in? Email support@proofchain.in from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. We respond within 7 working days, and we may ask you to confirm ownership of the account before acting.
What is deleted
- •Your account and sign-in credentials
- •Your name, email address and phone number
- •Profile details, photo, bio and public profile page
- •ScriptPad drafts and all their version snapshots
- •Analysis results, scores and reports
- •AI chat history
- •Marketplace listings and access requests
- •Referrals, invitations and notifications
These are removed when you confirm deletion. Backups are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle, after which no copy remains.
What is retained, and why
Blockchain timestamps
A Bitcoin timestamp cannot be altered or removed by anyone, including us — that permanence is the whole point of the service. The record contains only a SHA-256 hash of your file plus the OpenTimestamps proof. It never contains your script, manuscript, audio or document. A hash is one-way and cannot be reversed, so a retained timestamp reveals nothing about what you wrote.
Payment and tax records
Invoices and transaction records are kept for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires. They are not used for any other purpose.
Aggregate, non-identifying counts
Totals such as “number of works protected” do not identify you and are not linked back to your account after deletion.
Deleting your account does not revoke a blockchain timestamp. If you need a certificate for a legal or copyright matter, download it before deleting — we cannot reissue it afterwards, because the account it belonged to no longer exists.
